If you didn't already know Jermaine Dupri & Island Def Jam have joined forces to bring out a new record label called TAG Records. Jermaine Dupri explains that this label will give any new artist a massive amount of marketing and promotion, for example just like Usher had for his new album.
Sounds quite interesting, lets see how this turns out in the near future.

I have to say he's a bit late on this but its better late then never! Braids are such a thing of the past, some one needs to tell R Kelly & Lemar to let them go!

Jay Sean Ft Boy Better Know - Stay (Remix)
I'm proud to say Jay Sean has gone from strength to strength over the years, his new album 'My Own Way' reached number 6 in the UK charts and the two single released from the album so far have both been in the top 20 UK singles. This is a big look for a UK RnB artist, so a big well done to Jay! Check out the Boy Better Know remix video of 'Stay' featuring Frisco, Chipmunk, Jammer & Skepta.

NEW MUSIC: Musiq Soulchild - Radio
Musiq's back with a brand new track 'Radio' but if your a Musiq fan then you might not want to hear this... Its by far the Musiq you are used too, its more like a Chris Brown track. Personally I don't really mind it but I can imagine a lot of people turning their nose up at it.
What do you think? Do you like the reinvention of Musiq or should he stick to his Neo Soul roots?

Pussy Cat Dolls - When I Grow Up Video
This track is growing on me fast, and the video has sold it to me even more. Wow even Darkchild has done good with the beats on this track.
The new Nicole, oops sorry I meant to say Pussy Cat Dolls album 'Doll Domination' features production from Timbo, Cee Lo Green, Sean Garrett, Scott Storch plus others and is slated for release in September 08.
Im just wondering if its public knowledge to know all of the members names or is it just me that only knows Nicole and Melody?

NEW MUSIC: Jasmine Sullivan Ft Missy Elliott - Need You Bad
Look out for Jasmine in 2008, I think she's going to be huge! I can't stop listening to her new track 'Need You Bad', which is also firm favorite on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Jasmine is still in the studio working on her debut album slated for release in 2008 on J Records . She is also featured on some tracks from the new Missy Elliott album 'Block Party'.
What do you think of 'Need You Bad'? Summer anthem or summer flop?

R Kelly Walks Free!
So there you go the end off a very long drawn out court case finally with the verdict that R Kelly is not guilty of child pornography.
Well I have a feeling R Kelly will making some serious music in the near future, hopefully not the kind that involve him making noises like a Gorilla! But some good classic music like we know he capable of making. I just hope the right decision was made...

This Is What Bow Wow Thinks About Haters
OK OK, I'm confused again! Bow Wow has just made a 5 min video blog directed at all the people that hate on him, but through past experiences I've always thought that hate is good and from the time you don't feel hated thats when you have problem! Isn't that common knowledge? Also isn't the key never to the let the haters know they are getting to you, don't that just add wood to the fire - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
Anyway here's what Bow Wow thinks about his haters.

Get To Know Keri Hilson
Finally Keri Hilson is coming out the wood work and into the spotlight, I've been routing for Keri since I heard her track 'Hands & Feet'. As she explains in the video below, Keri has worked with some of the biggest artists in the game and hopefully, she might become as big as the some of the artists she has written for.
Her debut album 'In A Perfect World' is due out September 2008

Missy On The Cover Of Billboard Mag
The big question for me is do people still care about Missy Elliott? Her track 'Ching Ching' from the 'Step Up 2 the Streets' soundtrack had very little heat, think about the times when Missy dominated club land with Classics like 'She's A Bitch', 'Work it' & 'Pass That Dutch' just to name a few. I wonder if she re-build that hype she once had? I hope so, Missy has been one of the most creative artists over the past 10 years. Her seventh studio album 'Block Party' is due for release this August.

Independent Artist Spotlight.
This is something you can get used to on my blog - Independent Artist Spotlight is where you'll get to discover new artists signed to independent record labels worldwide.
To start off here's a 21 year old lady by the name of Jayms Madison, born in the Bronx, raised in Jamaica but now lives in New York. Jayms is now signed to By Friday Entertainment and will release her debut album later in this year. The track that got my attention is the catchy 'Room Service' which kind of sounds like the kind of tune I could imagine Cassie making.
Check out the track below.

New Ashanti Music
With the release of Ashanti's forth studio album 'The Declaration' due out next week, things are sounding kinda hot! Her last album 'Concrete Rose' was really poor in my opinion, i expected a lot more, but most of the tracks I've heard from this album sound heavy. The album features collaborations from Robin Thicke, Nelly, Akon & Mario Winans and production from Kanye West, Darkchild, Akon & L.T Hutton.
Have a listen to 'Good Good' produced by Jermaine Dupri - Love This Track
Here's a recent interview with Ashanti speaking about the new album.

Jermaine Dupri's new Signee - Phatfffat
I recently wrote a story about JD coming to the conclustion that DJ's are dead, which really aint the case, he also once said that the internet was a waste of time, but he's found his latest signee to So So Def via YouTube - wow, does this mean don't listen to anything he says?! Or is he allowed to change his opinion? Anyway back to the signee, her name is Phatfffat aka Dondria Nicole and she's managed to scoop a deal by sending her YouTube hits through the roof with over a million hits! This once again proves the power on the internet, so if your a singer you can make this happen for you too.
Its worth keeping an eye on Phatfffat which is easy to do, check out her YouTube page HERE
Check her out here with JD receiving that hot So So Def chain.

Def Jam Pull The Plug On Janet's Album
Looks like no more singles will be released from Janet's 'Discipline' album after the first single 'Feedback' failed to generate any heat, Def Jam have decided not to release any more singles. Here's what Janet had to say about the situation "We started off with “Feedback” and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the "Feedback" single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album." Although I'm not surprised by this news I still would of thought they might release at least 2 singles from album.
Check out this remix of 'This Can't Be Good' Ft Red Rat

Are DJ's Finished?!
Well according to Jermaine Dupri the DJ is dead! Wow what a statement to make. Watch the video to hear what he has to say. Now the thing is there is some truth in what he's saying but then I don't think he's thought about what he's saying properly cos when he needs his new tunes played who's he gonna run too? He cant break the tunes himself. Obviously I think the DJ will be around forever! See for yourself and make your own opinion on what he's saying...

Without a doubt this is one of my favorite tunes this year, love it to bits! This video is hot and its good to see Lil Wayne make an appearance too. Its all about the new album from LLoyd 'Lessons In Love' due out this month. I've heard 50% of it and I think its his best work to date!
