The Truth Or Not The Truth...

Well thats the question that surrounds R Kelly once again. This time the troubled star is being accused of sleeping with publicist 19 year old daughter and thats the real reason why Regina Daniels no longer wants to work him after being his publicist for 14 years! According to Allhiphop.com this is what she said on the matter - 

“Though I have a great appreciation for Mr. Kelly as an artist, there are some lines that should never be crossed professionally or personally. Mr. Kelly crossed a line that forever altered the scope of our relationship. For this reason I made the decision to resign. 

Now obviously Regina's daughter is not under age to have sex but with her being only 19 and R Kelly still going through his child pornography case this could lead to people believing he really is guilty.

I'm sure there will be a lot more news to come on this one. 

Cheri Dennis - Portrait Of Love Video

At last there's becoming some progress on the lady we've been waiting a long time for! Cheri Dennis is one of Bad Boy records unsung heroes, she's a veteran to the label and many people don't even know who she is or what she's done! 

I'll break it down for you in a bite size fashion. 

*Cheri was signed to Bad Boy Records almost 7 years ago BUT has never released an album with the label yet...

*She's co wrote songs for - Faith Evans, Olivia & Danity Kane.

*She's made guest appearances with - P Diddy, Biggie, Ma$e & Yung Joc. 

I'm guessing it must of been hard and very frustrating to stick with the label for so long without releasing hardly any material but she stuck in there and thankfully her debut album "In And Out Of Love" drops February 2008.

New Janet album in Feb 2008

With the massive flop of her previous album - 20. Y.O Janet's back at it again but this time it's without the Virgin Records, she's now under the wings of music legend L.A Reid who is the chairman of  the Island/Def Jam label. The album is due out Feb 2008 and features productions from hit makers - Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri. 

Lets hope this one sounds better than the last! 

Its A Boy!

Usher and his wife Tameka are now the proud parents of their newborn baby boy - Usher Raymond V. Tameka gave birth to Usher jnr on Monday night (26 Nov) 

Usher is set to release his follow up to the smash album - Confessions early next year and from the the 2 tracks I have heard will be another classic! 

All the best to him and his family.

Jackson 5 might tour in 2008!

I had to knock myself on head a few times to get over the article I read regarding the Jackson 5 might be reuniting for a special tour and it gets better - Michael is rumored to join them as well!!! If this really does happen, i'll be one of the first to get my ticket, there isn't any chance of me missing out on that - no way - no how!

New Jaheim Album On The Way

On December 18th Jaheim will release his 4th studio album entitled - "The Making Of A Man" The first single is "Never", which i've been playing quite a lot on my radio show. Production on the album comes from R Kelly, Kay Gee, Ivan & Carvin of  Karma Productions and Jasper Cameron. There is also a collaboration with Keyshia Cole and a special tribute to the late Luther Vandross.

Jacko calls for Akon

Forget about thinking too hard if artists like Ashanti, Mya, Ja Rule etc can make a come back in the music business because the real big spotlight is still on The King Of Pop - Michael Jackson! The latest confirmed news is Jacko has called for Akon’s songwriting/ producing skills for his upcoming album. Akon said “It’s A pleasure to work with such an artist, but the real challenge is doing something he has never done before and there isn’t much he hasn’t done

Estelle To Support Kanye On His UK Tour.

News just in... UK Rapper/Singer Estelle will support Kanye West on his upcoming UK tour. 

The tour kick starts tonight at London' s 02 Arena and Estelle will continue to support him in the following cities - 

24th Nov - Brighton Centre 

30th Nov - The Marquee Cork - Ireland 

2nd Dec - Manchester News Arena 

4th Dec - SECC Arena - Glasgow

Things are looking real good for Estelle at the moment as she gears up to release her highly anticipated second album - "Shine". Estelle has been on her grind for a few years now which has certainly paid off after receiving success with her single "1980" In 2006 Estelle was snapped up by the Grammy Awarding winning singer/songwriter - John Legend who signed her to his label "HomeSchool Records. the new album is due out in Feb 08 and features production from Will I Am, Cee-lo, Wyclef, Swizz Beatz and of course John Legend

Ne-Yo Steps Down From R Kelly's Tour

The Pied Piper of RnB seems to have thing against Def Jam artists, a few years ago Jay Z & R Kelly had beef in the middle of their "Best Of Both Worlds" tour, now this time R Kelly seems to have put Ne-Yo in a very awkward situation which resulted to the Sexy Love singer packing his bags and leaving the tour!

Ashanti's Coming Back!

Yep Ashanti's coming back with a brand new album but the  big question is, will it be a success like her debut?  Recently Ashanti fell out with her former boss - Irv Gotti, and he's the man behind producing her biggest singles, now you know what happened to Kelis after she decided to make an album without her back bone producers - The Neptunes... It flopped and now she's been dropped from her label! Ashanti's new album is called "The Declaration" and will be set for release next year. The album features production by Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri, & BabyFace, there's also collaborations with Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams.  

Here's what she had to say about the album -

“It’s been about three years in between albums,” “I’ve done a lot of growing up. It’s very deep and a little bit edgier than my previous [records], so I’m excited.”

Jill Scott live in Birmingham review

Last night I drove 120 miles to see the one and only Jill Scott do her thing live at Birmingham's Carling Academy, for me Jill is one of my favorite live performers, I always leave her concerts feeling inspired and positive.

Any way last night she came on stage with a 7 piece band and 3 backing singers. Jill concentrated on a lot of songs from the new album “The Real Thing, Words And Sounds Vol 3” which I’m still getting used too, and in all honestly was not feeling as much as her previous albums, however I felt like hearing the tracks live brought a different dimension to how they sound.

Not only is Jill a great live singer but a her stage presence is second to none. She literary makes you feel like she talking to you, and not just a room full of people. She speaks from her heart and you can truly believe her.

There’s also a very comical side to Jill that you only hear in her live performances. I did kind of get the feeling that her previous marriage ended quite badly as she made a lot of comments relating to her former husband, I wonder what really happened there…

Any way back to the show, as you would expect she performed a few of her classics such as – “The Way”, “Long Walk” “Golden” but the one that made the place erupt was “You Love Me” Overall Jill is most definitely well worth checking out, so take my advice go see her if you get the opportunity.

JIll Scott in Birmingham TONIGHT!

Tonight's the night that Jill Scott will touch down in my home town - Birmingham @ The Carling Academy and I will be there to witness her performance! Now this is not the first time I've had the pleasure of watching her perform live - in fact I think this will be my forth time, I can't get enough! By tomorrow I should have a review of the night so you know how it went down.

Chingy's Coming Right Back At Cha!

In my opinion Chingy's one of those rappers you either love or hate his voice, or of course you just don't mind. 

Anyway Chingy recently made up with Ludacris and signed back to Luda's label "Disturbing Tha Peace" after he believed that Capitol Records didn't know how to market him. (whatever!) 

So now Chingy's just finished recording his forthcoming perfectly titled 4th album - "Hate It Or Love It" due for release in December.

J Holiday New Video

The man responsible for one the biggest RnB tunes of the year "Bed" is back with a brand new video for his track "Suffocate", needless to say this be another massive track to keep the momentum growing around him. So far his debut album "Back Of My Lac" has sold over 240,000 copies and entered the Billboard hot 100 at number 5! J Holiday is currently touring America on R Kelly's "Double Up" tour.

Erykah's a happy lady

The three time Grammy Award winning singer Erykah Badu celebrates ten years since the release of her first album - Baduizm by bring out a new single called "Honey" which she describes as "an old school track with some funk on it" The track is a preview of the singers long awaited new album "The Kabah" due out on her birthday, February 26th 2008 (US date) I just hope it's some where near as good as the first album - RnB could do with a refreshed 2008 version of Baduizm!

Just in  case you unaware of one of my talents, I've become quite popular in the world of Refixing which I say is an art and only some people can pull it off, others get it so wrong! Basically a refix is taking an accapella and matching it up with totally different beat, so if your liking the sound of that THIS is the place where i'll hit you off with the free exclusiveness!
